Decide…

The first thing that you must do to ensure your success is to make a decision. The word decision means “to cut off”. What that means is that you have cut off all methods of retreat and have determined that “failure is not an option”. To guarantee your success in your business you must decide that you will approach your business as a business and not as a hobby. You must decide that you will be successful in your business regardless of whether it takes 3 months or 3 years. If you don't makethat initial decision then you will always find things that will distract you from your goal.

There will always be some new shiny object, a new business opportunity or investment that or some set back that, unless you are committed to and focused on your success, will take your attention away from your business and cause you to fail.

Develop…

One of the things that I like most about owning my own business is that it constantly challenges me to become better. I have to be a better communicator, I have to be a better partner, a better leader, a better teacher, etc. In many home-based businesses, you are required to recruit others into your business and develop those new recruits into successful business partners. In order to accomplish that you must consistently develop your own skills. This means that you must invest your own time and money into developing your mindset, your marketing skills, and your prospecting skills. If you fail to do this then you will not attract the types of people that will help you to build your business.

You must take action. As the Bible says, “Faith without deeds is dead!” Though you may have committed mentally to the success of your business and have committed yourself to developing your skills, you must consistently take the right actions which will grow your business. You must…

  • Prospect – Get your presentation in front of people every single day…
  • Produce Content – Which will attract people to you and your business.
  • Follow up – contact the people that have shown interest to gauge their interest. Keep in mind that most people don't make a buying decision until after the 7th contact so you should have in place a system that allows you to follow up with your potential customers and team members consistently.
